Team parenting

The importance of team parenting

The 4-week co-parenting workshops offer parents the opportunity to strengthen their relationship as co-parents. The courses are designed to encourage open communication, mutual understanding and effective cooperation in making decisions about their children's education and well-being. The involvement of both parents is essential to ensure a coherent and harmonious approach to parenting.

There are many advantages to co-parenting courses. Firstly, they enable parents to better understand their children's needs and learn useful techniques and strategies to help them grow and develop. In addition, these courses encourage clear and respectful communication between parents, which helps to reduce conflict and tension within the family.

The transition to parenthood can be a time of great change and adjustment for parents. Co-parenting courses offer a safe space where parents can express their concerns, share their experiences and get valuable advice and support. They are also an opportunity to learn how to manage the stresses and challenges of parenthood, while strengthening the emotional bonds between parents and their children.

Co-parenting workshops are a valuable investment for parents wishing to establish a solid and harmonious relationship in the upbringing of their children. The participation of both parents is strongly recommended to maximise the benefits and ensure a harmonious, healthy and balanced co-parenting environment and relationship.

At La mère à boire-Moms For Milk, we're very comfortable with different languages! Our services and activities are often bilingual or offered in French, English or Spanish.

Our volunteers speak many different languages. If we can accommodate you, we will!

To complement our team of Dads, we have another great partner, Mardoché, who joins us on Saturday mornings. He also animates the importance of team parenting workshops for couples!

Mardoché Mertilus

With over 10 years' experience as a street worker and then clinical coordinator in the West Island of Montreal, Mardoché joined the (RVP) team in 2019 to become a trainer and liaison officer for the Programme d'Adaptation des Pratiques aux Réalités Paternelles (PAPPa). It was his work with young single fathers that sparked his interest in fatherhood. He took part in the Père à cœur project and created the very first prenatal courses specifically for fathers in his region. In addition to his knowledge of the field and his experience in training facilitators and supervising teams, he has a keen sense of interpersonal skills and an authenticity that make him an outstanding facilitator! At RVP, Mardoché was quick to take on board new knowledge about fatherhood, and he soon had the opportunity to travel to several regions of Quebec to run PAPPa workshops. An experienced trainer, Mardoché is also known for his attention to needs and his commitment to supporting organisations.
