Our Director

About the Director

I hold a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Concordia University, a 120-credit specialization program that prepared me for a career in teaching. Before that, I completed a Creative Arts program in college. Throughout my studies, I gained hands-on experience as a nanny for newborns and young children, an educator in daycare settings, and a tutor for early elementary students. I also worked in administrative roles and as a coordinator, gaining valuable experience in program organization and community support. My professional journey led me to roles in resource teaching for kindergarten and eventually as a pre-kindergarten teacher.

A New Chapter for La mère à boire – Moms For Milk

Founded in 1997 by Naznin Hebert, La mère à boire – Moms For Milk has long been a cornerstone of support for families. After temporarily merging with another nonprofit in 2018, the organization became independent once again in 2023, relaunching with a renewed commitment to community-driven support.

My Journey & Passion for Supporting Families

As a mother of two, I deeply understand the joys and challenges of parenthood. My own family story—growing up with a Spanish mother who built her support network far from home—shaped my belief in the power of community. This personal experience fuels my passion for ensuring every parent feels connected and supported, especially immigrant families who may be far from their loved ones. I want La mère à boire – Moms For Milk to be a place where they can find a sense of belonging, just as my mother did.

When I became pregnant with my first child, I experienced firsthand the isolation that can come with early parenthood, particularly during preventive leave in winter. This reinforced my commitment to creating welcoming spaces for families to break isolation and find encouragement. My interest in early childhood education naturally expanded to pregnancy and breastfeeding, which led me to La mère à boire – Moms For Milk. There, I found invaluable support, trained as a breastfeeding support mom under founder Naznin Hebert, and joined the coordinating committee.

As the organization transitioned back to independence, I stepped into the role of Director, honored to continue its legacy of support. My experience in education, administration, and coordination allows me to help guide the organization’s growth while keeping our core mission at heart. I am passionate about making La mère à boire – Moms For Milk a truly inclusive environment where all families feel welcome. While our core focus is on perinatal support, we recognize the vital role of fathers, and we are committed to expanding our offerings for them as well. Fathers have always been welcome, and we will continue to develop new ways to support and involve them in our community.

I look forward to growing La mère à boire – Moms For Milk, expanding our initiatives, and fostering a thriving, connected support network for all.
